Faulty Stone's approach is based on simple, linear design and blending the use of stoneware and glazes to provide a tactile experience accentuating the character and design of this iconic piece of tableware.

Your cup and saucer have taken 4 weeks to create from the start to finish due to the drying times between each stage. The blueish/greyish glaze used on the mug is commonly known as a crystalline glaze. These glazes are known in the industry for being difficult to work with as they can run off quickly and stick to the kiln shelves but Simon recommended the finish and said it was worth the pain and effort.

The saucer has been embossed with the effect logo, which is not as easy to do as you may think. There are a few stages that clay goes through as it dries and Simon had to find the right consistency in order to get the sharp and clean lines that you see on the finished product whilst not damaging the saucer whilst stamping it.
